Changelog

Details.

Clawifi 1.7.2

Clawifi moved to clawifi.dev, and the API to api.clawifi.dev. Nothing to change on your side: api.clawifi.qzz.io keeps working for older clients, and the old site address forwards to the new one.

Clawifi 1.7.1

Pages that state their publication date only in the article itself (a date the page marks as its publish date) now return it too, after the page's structured data. A page that only shows unmarked dates, such as a forum thread, a list of posts or a 'Last updated' line, never gets a guessed publication date.

Clawifi 1.7.0

Know the cost before you run a call: add "dry_run": true to any paid call, or ask the estimate tool, and you get the minimum it needs, the most it can cost, what makes it cost more and whether your balance covers it. Nothing runs and nothing is charged.

Clawifi 1.7.0

Fresher answers: pages now say when they were published and last updated (published_at, modified_at), when Clawifi read them (fetched_at) and where the dates came from. Search results carry the date their source gives. A date is never guessed; when a page has none, the field is empty.

Clawifi 1.7.0

A smaller tool list for the local MCP server when you want it: set CLAWIFI_MCP_PROFILE=core for 27 tools covering search, reading, sites, research, jobs, monitors, history and cost estimates, so your agent spends far fewer tokens choosing a tool. Without it you keep every tool, as before. The hosted MCP is unchanged apart from the new estimate tool.

Clawifi 1.7.0

Run many agents at once: local agents now share the full limit each source allows, a call that would be refused for a few seconds waits its turn instead of failing, and a search moves on to the next engine when one is busy, telling you which engines it skipped. Each site still gets at most 60 calls a minute from Clawifi.

Clawifi 1.6.3

WebBridge security patch: uploads only from the runtime's uploads folder, http(s) to public sites only (localhost needs a setting), passwords and one-time codes masked in every snapshot, adopting your open tabs off unless you turn it on, output sizes bounded. Extension 0.5.0; update it to keep upload and find_tab.

Clawifi 1.6.2

Fairer rate limits: each account now has its own limit, so another customer's traffic never slows you down. A short burst of calls waits a moment for a free slot instead of failing, and when a call is refused the answer says how many seconds to wait (Retry-After).

Clawifi 1.6.2

More accurate page diagnostics: pages that mention captchas or sign-in in their text are no longer reported as blocked, and a page that does not exist is reported as not_found (check the URL) instead of as a captcha.

Clawifi 1.6.2

read_thread reads GitHub issues, pull requests and discussions with their comments and reaction counts, and reading a repository's /issues page lists its open issues with the most reactions first.

Clawifi 1.6.2

Reddit copies from the Wayback Machine are labelled as archived, with the date they were taken, and no longer claim zero comments.

Clawifi 1.6.2

Search fixes: web results come with snippets, longer Hacker News searches find matches, and docs.pypi.org pages read as pages.

Clawifi 1.6.2

search_content answers are compact by default (under 3 KB a result); ask for full=true to get whole pages. A busy browser now says when to retry.

Clawifi 1.6.2

Console: switching views is instant, the plan shown in the sidebar updates right after a plan change, and a subscription set to end says when it ends.

Clawifi 1.6.0

Remote MCP: connect Claude Code, Cursor or Codex to https://api.clawifi.dev/mcp with your API key, nothing to install. Tool calls cost what the same API call costs; without a key a small trial (search, read a page, map a site) works with low limits.

Clawifi 1.6.0

Organizations: invite people by email as admins or members, change roles, remove members (their keys in the organization stop at once) and hand over ownership. Calls in an organization are paid from its owner's credits. Switch organizations from the console sidebar.

Clawifi 1.6.0

A security page with the controls in place, how to report a vulnerability and a safe harbour for good-faith research, plus /.well-known/security.txt.

Clawifi 1.5.2

Change your plan in place from Billing: you see what Stripe will charge before you confirm, and an upgrade adds the extra monthly credits at once. Starting a second plan is refused instead of billing you twice, and the page tells you when a payment has landed.

Clawifi 1.5.2

History shows every call with who ran it (which key and which client), what it returned and what it cost. Filter by operation, status, key and date, open a call's details, download what it saved, or rerun it after seeing its minimum cost.

Clawifi 1.5.2

Hosted browser render for Pro and Scale. Renders JavaScript-heavy pages in a hosted browser. It does not bypass bot protection or CAPTCHAs. It costs 6 credits per started minute, with 500 minutes a month on Pro and 2,500 on Scale.

Clawifi 1.5.2

The docs start with a four-step quickstart and the exact line for each MCP client, plus the SDK, HTTP calls, error codes and the full credit table. Docs pages also come as plain Markdown.

Clawifi 1.5.1

Signing in now uses a secure browser cookie instead of storing your session in the page, and signing out ends the session everywhere you choose. Resetting your password signs out every other session and emails you.

Clawifi 1.5.1

A new console with Overview, API keys, Usage, History, Monitors and Billing. Revoking or rotating a key asks first and says what stops; a new key is shown once with a copy button. Usage warns you at 50%, 75% and 100% of your credits.

Clawifi 1.5.0

Credits now follow the work a call does: 1 for a search, page or lookup, 3 when a browser renders the page, 2 per 50 PDF pages, and more for research. Cached answers and failed calls cost nothing.

Clawifi 1.5.0

Pro includes 125,000 credits a month and Scale 500,000. Unused plan credits roll over, up to three months' worth. Refunds take back the credits a payment added.

October 20, 2026

Clawifi 1.4.0 brings passages to the hosted API: fetch, browse and scrape take a query and return only the passages that answer it, with their place in the page. Papers read through arXiv or PubMed come back as readable markdown, and Wikipedia snippets as plain text.

October 13, 2026

Clawifi 1.3.0 reads PDFs and the data pages embed for their JavaScript: fetch_url returns a PDF as markdown with its tables, and Next.js, Nuxt and Inertia page data comes back without opening a browser.

October 13, 2026

A query on fetch, browse, scrape and search_content now returns only the passages that answer it, with their place in the full text, so an agent reads about a quarter of the page.

October 13, 2026

Search adds domain, time, country and language filters, a fused mode that asks several engines at once and merges them, a Hugging Face Hub search, and pauses an engine that keeps failing.

October 13, 2026

email_recon now reads a company's own about, team and contact pages first, and web search moves to other engines when DuckDuckGo is blocked.

October 12, 2026

Clawifi 1.2.0 for locally run Clawifi adds browser_act, a real browser session an agent drives like a person (page snapshot with element refs, click, fill, tabs, downloads) that says when a person is needed for a captcha, login, or paywall; plus http_request and download_file for APIs and files.

October 12, 2026

Every MCP tool now declares whether it is read-only, destructive, or open-world. Write tools are off by default, tool profiles keep the list short, and an optional shared daemon starts the MCP server in tens of milliseconds.

October 12, 2026

Batch fetches now run up to four pages at a time, and each account's artifacts, usage, and browser sessions are isolated from other accounts.

September 29, 2026

Outbound requests now refuse private, loopback, link-local, and cloud-metadata addresses before connecting, and each connection is pinned to its validated IP.

September 29, 2026

The MCP clawifi_social tool now routes X and Reddit links to the matching reader automatically; unknown site paths return a real 404 page.

September 29, 2026

WebBridge 0.3.0 for locally run Clawifi adds opt-in X session sync, and the docs now state that WebBridge does not connect to the hosted API.

June 1, 2026

Account dashboard, live Resend email verification, and password reset delivery shipped.

June 1, 2026

Pricing checkout remains account-gated before paid plan purchase.

June 1, 2026

SEO, AEO, GEO, llms.txt, sitemap, and answer pages refreshed.
